Athyrium niponicum var. pictum ‘Silver Falls’

A deciduous fern with creeping rhizomes. The deeply divided, grey-green fronds have purple-red midribs, and are heavily overlaid with silver and with a central, purplish flush.
These ferns need a moist, but well-drained neutral to acid soil.
They prefer a sheltered site in partial shade or full shade.
Height x spread (after 5-10 yrs): 10-50cm x 150-250cm.
